Section 1 - Aim of the award
The LIERAC Award aims to reward scientific projects in the following areas: clinical or fundamental research into the physio-pathological, therapeutic or diagnostic aspects relating to the skin.
Research projects should be led by scientists working in hospitals or privately at an international level.


Section 2 - Eligibility of the research
To be eligible, research work should, first and foremost, meet the criteria set out above. Teams or individuals may take part. The work presented should be a future research project. No one with a direct or indirect legal link with the organising company may compete for the Award.


Section 3 - Confidentiality
Temporary confidentiality measures will be taken throughout the procedure during which research projects will be examined and up to the date on which the awards are awarded. During this period, research projects will not be circulated to anyone other than members of the jury and experts appointed by them. The latter will undertake not to divulge any information until the awards are awarded.


Section 4 - Submission of applications
Application forms are available on request from LIERAC/Amélie PRIOLLET - 89 rue Salvador Allende - 95871 Bezons - France or on the website www.lierac-research.com
Completed applications should be returned by post before July, 31st 2011 to LIERAC/Amélie PRIOLLET - 89 rue Salvador Allende - 95871 Bezons - France. Applicants are responsible for gathering all the required documents. In no circumstances will the organisers take on responsibility for gathering documents needed for submitting the application. The jury will not examine any application that is incomplete or only partially filled in.


Section 5 - Endowment

The Award winner will be awarded endowment by Laboratoires LIERAC. The endowment for the Award winner or award-winning team is
8 500€. The endowment will be presented to an individual. If the Award winner is a team, the jury will decide how the endowment will be distributed between its members.


Section 6 - Jury

The jury will be made up of six members of the French Society of Dermatology :
  - Pr Jean-Philippe LACOUR, Jury President and President of the French Society of Dermatology (SFD)
  - Dr Sébastien BARBAROT, Member of the SFD board of directors
  - Pr Annick BARBAUD, Member of the SFD board of directors
  - Dr Bertrand PUSEL, Vice-President of the SFD Laser Committee
  - Pr Frédéric CAUX, Member of the SFD board of directors
  - Pr Nicolas DUPIN, President of the SFD scientific council
  - Dr Thierry MICHAUD, Président of the SFD aesthetic and corrective dermatology Committee
and two representatives from Laboratoires LIERAC. The jury will undertake not to divulge any information concerning the research submitted for examination until the date on which the awards are awarded. Jury members’ word is final throughout the competition and their decisions may not be contested in any way.


Section 7 - Return of research work
Research projects, articles and documents sent to the award competition organisers will not be returned by post.


Section 8 - Acceptance of the rules
The submission of an application to take part in the LIERAC Award competition acts as proof of acceptance of these rules.


Section 9 - Right of publicity
The events linked to the LIERAC Dermatology Research Award competition and associated occasions will be reported in the media. Any of the participants – organisers, jury members or applicants – may see his/her name quoted in relation to the Award, or his/her image captured in photographs taken during Award competition events and circulated by the Award competition organisers or sponsors. Participation in the Award competition implies an acceptance of these terms and, in particular, authorisation to use names and images for the purposes of promoting the LIERAC Award.
